The waitlist

The waitlist form is run by Typeform, which stores your answers for us. We ask for your email address and nothing else.

The form is also told which button you pressed and, if you arrived from a link of ours, which post or campaign it came from. That tells us which posts bring people in. It is not used to build a profile of you.

We use your email address to tell you when Jaunty is ready, and for nothing else. We don't sell it or share it. Ask us and we'll take it off the list.

Visits to this website

We count visits to the home page with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies. It tells us how many people visited, which site sent them, and roughly which country and kind of device they were on, as totals. It doesn't tell us who you are.

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

If you use the app

To sign in we need your email address. We keep the name you give us so the people you share a map with can see who saved what.

When you share a TikTok or Instagram post to us, we keep the link, the post's public caption and preview picture, and the place we work out from it. To work out the place, we send the post's public text to Anthropic's Claude and look the place name up on OpenStreetMap. We send the post, not your account details.

Your map is private. Only people you invite to it can see it.

"Near me" uses your location on your phone to sort places by distance. Your location stays on your phone and is never sent to us.

Who helps us run it

• Supabase stores accounts, maps and saved places, in Sydney, Australia.
• Vercel hosts this website and the app's server.
• Typeform runs the waitlist form.
• Anthropic's Claude reads a post's public text to work out the place.
• OpenStreetMap turns a place name into a spot on the map.

What we don't do

• Sell your information.
• Show you ads, or let anyone else advertise to you through us.
• Follow you around other websites or apps.

Seeing, correcting or deleting what we hold

Email hello@getjaunty.app and we'll send you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you delete your account, your saved places go with it.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
